Press Release Matereality® partners with ABAQUS to serve ABAQUS-ready material parameters July 15, 2003: Matereality welcomes ABAQUS into its MCCP Matereality, L.L.C., USA, has signed a Collaborative Channel Partner Program (MCCP) Agreement with ABAQUS, Inc., to enhance interoperability and seamless upload of material parameters from Matereality into ABAQUS software. Matereality is continually being populated with thousands of current material property datasets relevant for users in many verticals where ABAQUS is used, including automotive, aerospace, biomedical, electronics, and consumer products. Data housed within is highly relevant for product development: high strain rate data on plastics, hyperfoam properties of foams, injection molding simulation properties, hyperelastic, visco-elastic, creep and fatigue data, as well as the more commonly available material properties, forming a kind of data repository that has never existed before. Matereality‘s patent-pending scalable and secure XML-based architecture accommodates any material, any property, all in one place in True Digital Format™ (TDF). Enterprises can collect and use their material data through the collaborative product design and manufacturing horizontals, selectively sharing it with internal users, and authorized clients or collaborators. Hence, Matereality is poised to serve as both, the enterprise’s material storage framework, as well as a more readily applicable database for the product development community. “ABAQUS users’ need for material data goes beyond the simple values that are used for material selection,” says Dr. Ken Short, vice president marketing, ABAQUS, Inc. “Enhanced connectivity with Matereality will improve the availability of accurate material data inputs for ABAQUS users.” Matereality Version 2.0 includes the new Material Data Mining Robot (MIRO), a powerful search wizard that mines through data collections for relevant data suitable for ABAQUS simulations. Says Matereality CTO Hubert Lobo, “One can use MIRO to mine out all data sets suitable for characterization of a hyperelastic material model in ABAQUS. Then, a user can auto-summarize data, zoom-in on graphs, examine variability and view raw data, in conjunction with the ABAQUS hyperelastic material model parameters.” Currently, users can export search results in Excel-friendly and MATML formats. The MCCP collaboration enhances this connectivity to export data sets directly into ABAQUS software. About Matereality, L.L.C.: The Matereality user base includes major players in the automotive, appliance, Tier One, material supplier, material testing, medical devices and consumer products verticals. It is a solution created with the awareness and agility to adapt to PLM needs of clients worldwide, from Fortune 500 enterprise solutions to small businesses, as VPD evolves.
